Arms Race Escalation now in post

On Sunday we wrapped principal photography on Arms Race Escalation, bringing to a close the longest, most ambitious shoot we’ve ever attempted. Having now had a day of rest, we’re swinging into action on the web series’ post-production, which will take us through to the November online release. We could never have done this without our incredible cast and crew, some of whom you can see in the photo above.
For detailed production updates, keep an eye on the official Arms Race website.
Keep up-to-date on Arms Race Escalation

We’re currently right in the middle of the huge shoot for our upcoming web series, Arms Race Escalation. If you’d like to know more about this steampunk action adventure extravaganza, make sure you check out some of these resources:
Arms Race Escalation production begins!
At long last we have reached the shoot for Arms Race Escalation, the 6 episode mini series sequel to our 2010 short film. This Saturday principal photography begins on the Norfolk coast, before moving inland to various locations in the countryside and Norwich itself. The shoot is a week long which makes it the biggest film project we’ve undertaken by quite some way. It’s an ambitious 6 episodes and we have a fantastic cast and crew all geared up to give it their all.
Meanwhile, here’s another glimpse at one of the new props coming up in the web series:
VFX breakdowns for Confrontation At Dawn
Following up on our new short film Confrontation At Dawn, here are a couple of visual effects breakdowns:
New Witcher-inspired short action sequence!
Here’s our latest short film, Confrontation At Dawn! It’s a short action sequence directed by Christopher Puttock and was lightly inspired by the Witcher computer games.
Confrontation At Dawn was primarily a fight choreography and equipment test and on both counts we’re pretty satisfied with the results. It also marked the first time we worked with Tom Martin as director of photography, a role he’ll be reprising in the Arms Race web series which shoots in a couple of weeks (exciting!!).
As we gear up for the epic 7-day Arms Race shoot we’ll be doing lots of blogging and updates, so stay tuned.
Arms Race 2
It’s A Trap! are filming the follow up to their highly acclaimed short film Arms Race in May 2012. If you would like to be involved as an extra or if you have some skills you’d like to put to use on a film production please let us know either here or email armsrace@itsatrap.co.uk.
Primary filming will take place on the following weekends:
5th – 7th May
12th – 13th May
Set on Location in and around North Norfolk.

Arms Race in Abney Park music video
The latest music video from awesome steampunk band Abney Park features a couple of clips from the Arms Race short film!
For Steampunk Revolution’s music video Abney Park put out a call for steampunk images and videos from the community. The music video is a collection of amazing steampunk clips (including our favourite, a giant steam elephant thing). We’re very pleased to have Arms Race featured among such inspiring creativity.
We’re big fans of Abney Park and hopefully this won’t be the last time we get to collaborate with them on a project…
Remembering Lu Harvey
It’s A Trap team member Lu Harvey has passed away after a battle with cancer. Lu was integral to all of our projects, bringing a vital understanding of how to manage complex projects from her experience in professional television production as well as her considerable talents with special effects make-up. We also had the chance to enjoy her brilliant voice skills as Yvette Du Lac in both series of Jack Steel.
Making short films and epic audio dramas isn’t easy, and a common saying round these parts was “I wouldn’t want to try to do that without Lu!” Her involvement always ensured a project would go as planned, to a high level of quality, and that, perhaps most importantly, everybody would have lots of fun.
Everything she did in life was to help others make their dreams into reality. She taught us so much and we’ll continue on with the same determination and passion that she brought to everything she did.
